“Journey to Uruk – Abstract Expressionism,” is about a Journey to Uruk. Uruk was an ancient city of Sumer (and later of Babylonia) that was situated near the Euphrates River in Iraq and was famous as the capital city of Gilgamesh. It was one of the first cities and so much of its history is known yet much more is unknown. This painting is an emotional depiction of that journey. This work is painted in the style of abstract expressionism.
“Journey to Uruk – Abstract Expressionism,” is painted with synthetic polymer acrylic and the surface is a professional-grade 12 oz canvas and has been sealed with varnish. The canvas is stretched onto an HD stretcher with dimensions 183 cm width by 122 cm in height. The artwork has been painted white on the sides and so does not need an external frame.

FRAMED AND INTERIOR IMAGES
In the photos, where the painting is shown mounted on a wall, are purely for illustrative purposes. You should review the dimension of the artwork to be sure the work suits your needs. For paintings that do not come with a frame, you can add a frame of your choosing. In that case, it will add to the overall dimensions.
If you are an Australian buyer you will get the stretched canvas ready to hang. However, if you are an international buyer, you will receive the painting rolled up in a tube. You will need to have the work stretched onto a stretcher at your local framing store. This is usually inexpensive and stretching instructions comes with the painting.
Shipping costs for this work internationally can be prohibitively expensive and so the canvas is taken off the stretchers and rolled up and shipped in a tube. This provides reduced shipping rates, avoiding heavy shipping costs. However, the buyer would need to have the canvases remounted. This is always cheaper than paying excessive shipping fees on an artwork. However, bear in mind that all customs duty and related fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
